LINE NEXT Targets Global Markets With Zero-Fee Unifi Pay Infrastructure

LINE NEXT has opened developer pre-registration for Unifi Pay, a stablecoin-based payment system aiming for a global rollout in the third quarter. The platform, which processed 100 billion Korean won in its beta phase, promises near-instant settlement speeds and zero transaction fees for users and merchants alike.

The service leverages the Unifi stablecoin wallet to support USDT, JPYC, and IDRP. In Japan and Indonesia, users can undergo identity verification to link bank accounts directly to the platform for seamless stablecoin top-ups. By removing intermediaries, LINE NEXT aims to eliminate standard payment fees while maintaining settlement times of approximately one second.

To attract developers, the company is releasing an SDK capable of generating payment pages in about 10 minutes via a single command. The system also offers an incentive structure, providing annual rewards of up to 5% for businesses that retain payment proceeds within their Unifi wallets. CEO Youngsu Ko intends for this infrastructure to bridge the gap between creators and a global user base, building on the success of earlier initiatives like Project Unify. Merchants can further convert their digital holdings into fiat through integrated crypto exchanges and remittance solutions, ensuring a functional link between blockchain assets and traditional banking systems.
