Deutsche Bank settles wage dispute with Postbank staff

After months of friction with labor representatives, Deutsche Bank has finalized a pay agreement for 7,500 employees within its Postbank division. The 28-month deal secures a structured path for salary increases, effectively concluding a negotiation cycle marked by union demands for more substantial monthly adjustments.

The agreement stipulates a base pay increase of 175 euros per month starting in July 2026, followed by an additional 2.9% raise in July 2027. This settlement comes after the Verdi trade union initially pushed for a more aggressive 8% hike, or a minimum monthly boost of 300 euros.

Management and union leaders engaged in several rounds of discussions to reach this compromise, navigating a landscape defined by rising inflation. The finalized terms provide a degree of stability for the lender's workforce as the bank looks to move past the protracted labor negotiations.
