Bitdeer stakes $36 million on Nevada mining hardware plant

A 14.1% surge in Bitdeer Technologies shares followed the announcement of a $36 million manufacturing facility in Sparks, Nevada. The project, secured with state tax incentives, marks a strategic pivot for the Singapore-based firm to bring the production of its proprietary SEALMINER rigs onto domestic soil by late 2026.

Bitdeer stakes $36 million on Nevada mining hardware plant

The Sparks facility aims to decouple Bitdeer from third-party hardware suppliers, granting the company direct oversight of its mining equipment supply chain. CEO Catherine Guo coordinated the expansion with Governor Joe Lombardo’s administration, leveraging local tax breaks to anchor the operation. While the plant focuses exclusively on Bitcoin hardware rather than AI infrastructure, the move mirrors a broader industry trend where miners are aggressively diversifying their operational footprints.

Bitdeer reported 921 BTC mined in May, a 370% increase year-over-year, signaling aggressive capacity scaling following the recent Bitcoin halving. This domestic investment complements a wider industry push toward high-performance computing, though competitors like MARA Holdings and TeraWulf are prioritizing AI data center contracts. By internalizing hardware production, Bitdeer seeks to stabilize its core mining business against market volatility while capitalizing on the current U.S. manufacturing climate.
