Rolls-Royce Secures Engine Deal for Somon Air Dreamliners

The Trent 1000 XE engines feature a re-engineered high-pressure turbine blade designed to increase cooling airflow. According to Rolls-Royce, these technical enhancements aim to triple the time aircraft spend on the wing while reducing overall maintenance requirements. This deal follows a significant April order from Latam Airlines for six similar units.

Chief Customer Officer Ewen McDonald noted that the deal reflects market confidence in the engine's reliability. To support this growth, Rolls-Royce has invested heavily in its global maintenance, repair, and overhaul infrastructure, establishing dedicated facilities across the U.K., Singapore, and Germany. The company has allocated approximately 1 billion British pounds to refine the Trent engine lineup, a move that prompted a 1.1% lift in shares to 13.73 GBP on the London market.
