Palo Alto Networks is expanding its observability footprint by acquiring Embrace, a startup specializing in real-user monitoring. By integrating Embrace’s technology into its existing security stack, the cybersecurity giant aims to bridge the gap between backend infrastructure performance and the actual experience of end users clicking through applications.

The financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, though Palo Alto expects the deal to finalize within its first fiscal quarter, concluding in October. This move follows an aggressive M&A strategy that saw the firm acquire Chronosphere for $3.35 billion last November and execute a significant $25 billion deal for CyberArk last year.

Alongside the acquisition, Palo Alto is launching Synthetics, a new application performance validation tool. Chief Product & Technology Officer Lee Klarich noted that organizations currently struggle to see the full picture of application health. By pairing the new Synthetics capability with Embrace’s monitoring data, the company intends to provide a comprehensive view that tracks activity from the moment a user initiates a tap or click to the corresponding server-side response.
