The online brokerage’s bottom line swelled from $224 million, or 51 cents a share, during the same period last year. This growth trajectory was anchored by a 30% jump in commission revenue, which hit $673 million. The surge in activity reflects a broader uptick in user engagement, with total trading volumes for stocks rising 14% and options increasing 17%, while futures saw a more modest 2% gain.
Beyond transactional volume, the firm’s scale expanded rapidly. Customer accounts grew 34% to reach 5.2 million, as total customer equity climbed 40% to $930.3 billion. These figures underscore the company's ability to capitalize on heightened market volatility and increased retail and institutional participation on its platform throughout the quarter ending June 30.
