Pandl argues that Bitcoin has evolved into a mature asset, increasingly sensitive to standard macroeconomic variables like economic growth and central bank policy. While traditional cycle-based models suggest the bear market could persist until late autumn with deeper drawdowns, Grayscale contends that elevated institutional participation makes the macro-focused outlook more relevant. Under this view, if the Federal Reserve maintains current rates and economic activity remains steady, the recent price floor may prove durable.
This outlook hinges on three primary pillars identified by Grayscale: federal policy, the legislative progress of the CLARITY Act, and the financial stability of major corporate holders. Recent moves by Strategy, which offloaded 3,588 Bitcoin for $216 million to bolster its cash reserves, have helped mitigate fears of forced liquidation. By securing roughly $2.55 billion in liquidity, the company has reduced the likelihood of emergency sales during periods of volatility. Despite this, risks remain. Should inflation force the Federal Reserve to implement further rate hikes or if the CLARITY Act fails to gain legislative traction, the market could face renewed downward pressure.
