The company reported a second-quarter profit of $296.4 million, or $1.17 per share, up from $290.3 million, or $1.12 per share, during the same period last year. Adjusted earnings reached $1.50 per share, comfortably beating the $1.36 expectation set by FactSet analysts. Total revenue for the quarter rose to $2.56 billion, exceeding the $2.53 billion forecast.
Chief Executive Officer Ronald Mittelstaedt attributed the performance to a disciplined strategy that offset spikes in fuel costs. Despite the revenue upgrade, the company lowered its annual profit target to approximately $1.17 billion, down from the earlier range of $1.22 billion to $1.24 billion. Mittelstaedt noted that the firm’s ability to navigate geopolitical instability remains a cornerstone of its current market position.
