Robinhood is currently overhauling its platinum card following sharp backlash from customers who criticized the $695 annual fee. Users labeled the initial rewards structure a glorified coupon book, prompting Deepak Rao, general manager of Robinhood Money, to confirm that the company is actively adjusting perks to better align with market expectations.
Legal pressure is also mounting for Early Warning Services, the operator of the Zelle payment network. A New York judge rejected the company’s bid to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Attorney General Letitia James, which claims the platform prioritized rapid market expansion over fundamental consumer fraud protections. Meanwhile, earnings reports offered a brighter contrast: Banco Santander reported strong second-quarter growth driven by increased client activity, and Moody’s saw its net profit climb to $878 million, fueled largely by the rapid infrastructure expansion of data centers.
