Commodity markets signaled a cooling in energy costs. Brent crude dropped 1.9% to $98.82 a barrel, while WTI crude saw a matching percentage decline to $90.46. European natural gas prices also softened, with Dutch TTF futures falling 0.7% to 61.52 euros per megawatt hour. In the debt markets, yields on both the 10-year U.S. Treasury and the German Bund retreated by one basis point, settling at 4.694% and 3.219% respectively. In the United States, equity futures pointed toward a steady start, with the S&P 500 up 0.2% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbing 0.4%.
