The company now expects adjusted earnings per share between $8.05 and $8.25 for the year, a slight bump from its previous forecast. This optimism follows a strong second quarter where Ecolab reported a profit of $534.9 million, or $1.90 per share. When adjusted for one-time items, earnings reached $2.09 per share, narrowly beating the $2.08 consensus estimate from FactSet.
Revenue climbed 10% to $4.42 billion, surpassing the $4.39 billion anticipated by Wall Street. Chief Executive Christophe Beck attributed these gains to the firm's decision to implement energy surcharges, with further pricing increases of 5% to 6% expected throughout the second half of the year. While volume grew by 1%, the company noted a slight drag from regional disruptions linked to the conflict in Iran. Looking toward the third quarter, Ecolab projects adjusted earnings per share between $2.13 and $2.23, compared to the $2.18 forecast by analysts.
