Emirates Integrates Crypto.com Pay for UAE Flight Bookings

Passengers residing in the UAE can now settle Emirates flight bookings using digital assets through the Crypto.com Pay platform. The launch, which took effect July 28, marks a shift toward broader digital payment adoption within the aviation sector, aligning with Dubai’s ambitious push to transition toward a cashless economy by late 2026.

The service is restricted to bookings priced and settled in UAE dirhams, requiring users to hold an active account with the exchange. For mobile users, the process involves a redirect to the Crypto.com app for transaction approval, while desktop users scan a QR code at checkout to finalize their purchase. Once authorized, Emirates issues the electronic ticket directly.

This integration operates through Foris DAX Middle East FZE, the exchange’s local entity holding a Stored Value Facilities license from the Central Bank of the UAE. Despite the rollout, the airline has not disclosed specific details regarding accepted digital assets, transaction fees, or policies for refunds and exchange rate volatility. Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates, framed the move as an effort to cater to a digitally fluent demographic, though the company provided no projections on expected adoption rates or transaction volumes.

The partnership follows a July 2025 memorandum of understanding between the two firms. By enabling this payment route, Emirates joins local efforts to meet the D33 Agenda’s target of 90% cashless transactions. While the service provides a regulated pathway for using crypto-funded accounts, bookings remain denominated in local currency, and the option is currently unavailable to travelers outside the UAE.
