Cathie Wood Seizes Market Rout to Bulk Up on Tesla and Nvidia

As a global tech sell-off rattled markets on July 28, Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest deployed $40.2 million to scoop up shares in Tesla, SpaceX, and Nvidia. The aggressive buying spree suggests the firm is doubling down on its conviction in autonomous technology and computing infrastructure despite mounting investor anxiety.

Cathie Wood Seizes Market Rout to Bulk Up on Tesla and Nvidia

The firm’s daily trade disclosures reveal a broad effort to bolster its positions across its active ETFs. ARK acquired 40,281 Tesla shares valued at $12.38 million and 105,108 shares of SpaceX for approximately $12.24 million. Simultaneously, five of the firm’s funds absorbed 78,965 Nvidia shares worth $15.56 million, capitalizing on the chipmaker’s recent price retreat as investors re-evaluate the profitability of heavy AI infrastructure spending.

Beyond traditional hardware, ARK extended its reach into digital assets by adding to its Solana exposure. The firm purchased 5,252 shares of the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF for roughly $32,667. This move comes as internal analysts signal a volatile period for the crypto sector; Lorenzo Valente, ARK’s director of digital assets research, recently cautioned that the industry is entering a deep consolidation phase marked by potential bankruptcies and a narrowing concentration of revenue among top-tier decentralized applications.
