Robinhood Revenue Hits $1.31B as Prediction Markets Outpace Crypto

Robinhood Markets posted record second-quarter revenue of $1.31 billion, a 32% year-over-year surge driven by explosive growth in event contracts. While the platform’s new prediction-market offerings eclipsed its crypto transaction business, the company faces ongoing regulatory uncertainty as it pivots its revenue mix toward high-frequency trading and subscription services.

Robinhood Revenue Hits $1.31B as Prediction Markets Outpace Crypto

The company’s financial performance for the quarter ending June 30 highlighted a shifting user base. Net income rose 48% to $573 million, bolstered by a $129 million gain from the deconsolidation of Robinhood Ventures Fund I. Transaction-based revenue climbed 44% to $776 million, with event contracts reaching $156 million—a tenfold increase over the previous year. This growth stands in stark contrast to the firm's cryptocurrency segment, where transaction revenue plummeted 38% to $100 million, even as total crypto volume reached $40 billion across the main app and the newly integrated Bitstamp platform.

Operational expansion remains a primary focus, with platform assets rising 32% to $369 billion and funded customers growing to 28.4 million. CFO Shiv Verma noted the business is firing on all cylinders, supported by a 39% increase in Robinhood Gold subscribers. Despite these gains, investors reacted with caution, sending shares down 0.8% in extended trading. The firm has since lowered its 2026 adjusted operating expense guidance to a range of $2.675 billion to $2.775 billion, signaling a tighter grip on costs even as it navigates the regulatory complexities surrounding its event-contract products and international expansion efforts.
