CZ Pushes Trust Wallet to Simplify Token Management Controls

After retiring his own public wallet due to an influx of unsolicited meme coins, Binance cofounder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao is calling for a more accessible interface for hiding unwanted assets. While Trust Wallet already includes an ignore function, Zhao notes the current five-step process is too cumbersome for most users.

CZ Pushes Trust Wallet to Simplify Token Management Controls

Zhao’s pivot follows a public discussion on Aug. 17 regarding the practical challenges of managing transparent blockchain addresses. Initially skeptical of the need for such controls, he reconsidered after community feedback highlighted how frequently users receive spam, dust, or unsupported tokens. While the Trust Wallet team confirmed that an 'Ignore coins' feature exists, Zhao emphasized that burying the option deep within the application’s settings limits its utility.

Although Zhao expressed an expectation that the team will streamline the process, Trust Wallet has not issued a formal announcement or provided a timeline for interface updates. Such a change would allow users to declutter their portfolio screens, though it would not alter the underlying blockchain records. Because public addresses can receive tokens without prior authorization, hiding assets remains a display preference rather than a security measure. Security experts continue to warn that simply concealing a token does not mitigate risks associated with interacting with malicious contracts or falling victim to address poisoning.
