Bitfinex Securities Secures Record $50M for Nickel-Backed Token

The ALKN token represents fractional interests in Alkemya Metacore SCSp, a Luxembourg-based partnership that holds 7 million meters of 99.99% pure nickel wire. By placing legal investment interests on-chain, the company allows investors to gain exposure to industrial-grade metals without requiring the liquidation of the underlying physical inventory. Proceeds are earmarked for the commercialization of engineered nickel products, specifically targeting the semiconductor industry.

This capital raise eclipses Bitfinex Securities’ former record, a $30 million offering linked to short-term U.S. Treasuries. While the initial $50 million round has concluded, the platform will keep additional ALKN tokens available to eligible investors until October 15. Secondary market trading remains restricted until the completion of the subsequent fundraising tranche, ensuring liquidity management during the rollout phase. The deal underscores a broader expansion in the tokenized commodity sector, which has grown nearly 600% since early 2025 to exceed $7 billion in market value.
