The hiring rate dipped to 3.2% in July, down from 3.4% the previous month, according to the latest Labor Department job openings and labor turnover survey. Roughly 5.1 million Americans secured new employment throughout the period, reflecting a cautious approach from employers despite the uptick in advertised roles.
Retention metrics remained largely stable, suggesting that the underlying structure of the workforce is holding steady.
