The joint venture tasks Peninsula Pipeline Co., a subsidiary of Chesapeake Utilities, with the construction and ongoing operation of the facility. This project represents a $1.2 billion investment aimed at addressing regional energy constraints and supporting rapid population growth in South Florida. By expanding transmission capacity, the developers intend to stabilize reliability across the corridor.
Work on the pipeline is slated to begin during the first half of 2028. Following the construction phase, the companies expect the infrastructure to reach full service by 2030, pending final design confirmation and commissioning.
