The exchange has integrated USDC markets for HYPE, ZEC, LINK, ONDO, ENA, AAVE, NEAR, TRUMP, OKB, and BNB. This update allows eligible users in Europe to borrow funds against collateral to open positions exceeding their account balances. Unlike derivative contracts, these spot margin trades involve the actual purchase or sale of the underlying asset, with interest accruing on an hourly basis. OKX notes that borrowing rates vary based on asset, user tier, and prevailing market conditions, though the company explicitly excludes opening or rollover fees from its cost structure.
Market performance among the newly listed tokens remains mixed. NEAR led the group with a 7.2% increase to $2.01, while ENA saw a 5.6% rise to $0.1610. Conversely, assets like BNB, OKB, and TRUMP posted slight declines. The rollout leans heavily on USDC, aligning with OKX’s strategy to navigate the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. By utilizing the dollar-backed stablecoin, which draws its reserves from cash and short-dated U.S. government debt managed by BlackRock, the exchange provides a regulated settlement layer for its European client base. Users are cautioned that leverage amplifies both potential gains and losses, with positions subject to liquidation if account equity fails to meet maintenance requirements.
