Guardian Pharmacy Absorbs Nautilus Assets to Localize Care

By shifting from a centralized mail-order model to a localized service network, Guardian Pharmacy Services has acquired the prescription files and inventory of Tennessee-based Nautilus Pharmacy. The move marks a strategic pivot for Nautilus’s assisted living clients across 14 states, aiming to replace remote logistics with community-based oversight.

Guardian Pharmacy Absorbs Nautilus Assets to Localize Care

Guardian Pharmacy Services will integrate the new assets into its existing footprint, tasking 18 of its local pharmacies with managing the accounts previously served by Nautilus. The acquisition includes a retention strategy for more than half of the former company’s staff, including specialized pharmacists and technicians, to preserve continuity for residents in assisted living facilities.

David Brown, senior vice president of the Central Region at Guardian, noted that the transition aims to anchor pharmaceutical services within the specific markets they serve. By moving away from a single, centralized mail-order hub, the company intends to increase local accountability and provide more direct access to senior care expertise.
