Donations top $600,000 for daughter of slain Bank of America executive

More than 6,000 donors have contributed over $600,000 to a GoFundMe campaign supporting five-month-old Madison Piacenti, whose mother, Erin, was killed in a random stabbing in Times Square on Monday. The 32-year-old vice president at Bank of America had returned to work from maternity leave just hours before the attack.

The stabbing, which also left another individual injured before police shot and killed the 49-year-old assailant, Pamela Cisneros, occurred in the heart of Manhattan. Colleagues and former associates remember Piacenti as a dedicated professional who spent 18 months at the bank’s Business Selection and Conflicts group after a tenure at the law firm Davis Polk. Beyond her career in finance and law, Piacenti was an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania and Fordham Law School, where she met her husband, Frank.

Her family has requested privacy during this time, asking that well-wishers direct their support to the fundraising page instead of sending gifts. The outpouring of financial aid reflects the deep shock felt across Wall Street following her death, an event that has drawn parallels to other recent tragedies involving high-profile financial professionals. As of Thursday, the campaign remains active, serving as a pillar of support for the family left behind.
