U.S. Corn Exports Surge to Open Marketing Season

The Department of Agriculture’s latest grain inspection report highlights this momentum as the new marketing year officially kicked off on September 1. While corn led the gains, other commodities saw varied performance: soybean shipments reached 422,016 tons, a slight improvement over the prior week but trailing last year’s figures, while wheat exports slipped to 342,733 tons.

Mexico remains the primary buyer for U.S. corn and wheat, maintaining its position as a critical export partner. Meanwhile, Egypt emerged as the leading destination for American soybean shipments. Despite the positive export data, Chicago Board of Trade futures showed mixed results on Tuesday; corn prices dipped 0.8%, whereas soybean and wheat contracts climbed 0.2% and 0.7% respectively.
