Sigma Lithium asserts it has received no official legal notice regarding the decision, which the company claims was issued during a court recess without adherence to standard due process. Management labeled the ruling unwarranted and inconsistent with Brazilian legal norms, signaling an intent to launch a formal defense immediately upon the reopening of the courts.

Despite the market turbulence, the company continues to focus on its production targets, aiming to supply 240,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate within the next year and reaching 330,000 tonnes by fiscal year 2027. Executives also cautioned that speculative reports surrounding its business might intensify as the country approaches a contested general election. The current ruling includes potential daily fines, though these and other restrictive provisions would only trigger following a final judgment, a legal conclusion that could take years to materialize.
