The clinical study, which tracked 121 adults over 12 weeks, ultimately failed to provide the necessary efficacy data to justify further development of the oral treatment for chronic skin inflammation. Consequently, Evommune has confirmed it will discontinue its pursuit of EVO756 for this specific indication. Before the after-hours sell-off, the company’s stock had already suffered a 24% decline throughout the year.
Despite the failure in dermatology, company leadership indicated that the drug’s safety profile remains intact. Given that the treatment was well tolerated by participants during the trial, Evommune intends to pivot its resources toward evaluating EVO756 for migraine prophylaxis, hoping to salvage the asset’s potential in a different therapeutic area.
