Nippon Telephone Narrows Losses as Revenue Climbs

Nippon Telephone Inc. reported a parent net loss of 136 million yen for the nine-month period ending July 31, a significant improvement from the 238 million yen loss recorded during the same interval last year. The narrowing deficit reflects a period of revenue growth for the Japanese telecommunications firm.

The company’s revenue reached 6.67 billion yen, up from 4.27 billion yen in the previous year. Despite the top-line expansion, the business remains in the red, with an operating loss of 92 million yen compared to the 190 million yen loss seen in 2025. Pretax losses also compressed to 134 million yen from 206 million yen.

Per-share earnings for the period stood at a loss of 19.81 yen, improving upon the 43.81 yen loss per share reported last year. The results, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, indicate no dividends for the midyear or annual periods.
