Texas Capital Bancshares Shifts Listing to Texas Stock Exchange

Texas Capital Bancshares is abandoning Nasdaq to become one of the first major institutions to anchor the nascent Texas Stock Exchange. The Dallas-based financial firm plans to begin trading on the state-centric platform on October 8, signaling a departure from traditional coastal exchanges for a Texas-founded entity.

The transition begins with the firm’s stock trading under its current ticker, TCBI, before migrating to the symbol TXCP in November. Leadership described the move as a logical progression following the company’s recent internal transformation, emphasizing its commitment to its home-state roots. This shift marks a notable win for the Texas Stock Exchange, which only commenced operations this past July.

Energy Transfer recently became the first major corporation to commit to the platform, signaling a growing trend among regional heavyweights. Founder James Lee launched the exchange earlier this year, aiming to leverage aggressive state-level efforts to position Texas as a primary global business hub. By moving its primary listing, Texas Capital Bancshares aligns itself with this broader push to decentralize financial markets away from New York and toward regional power centers.
