SB Energy Targets $500 Million Japanese Slice of U.S. IPO

SoftBank Group’s AI infrastructure arm, SB Energy, plans to carve out a $500 million portion of its upcoming U.S. public offering for Japanese investors. The company intends to trade on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol SBE, marking a significant step in its capital-raising strategy for the global market.

The final amount allocated for the Japanese market remains fluid, with the firm indicating that exact figures will depend on the offering price determined closer to the launch. Management currently expects the IPO window to open between September 2026 and February 2027. This move follows the company’s formal registration for the initial public offering earlier this month.

While the specific Japanese tranche is capped at $500 million, the broader scope of the offering is significantly larger. Reports indicate that SB Energy is aiming to raise between $5 billion and $7 billion in total capital through the Nasdaq listing to fuel its expansion as an AI infrastructure platform.
