Weisz joins Kamino after a decade at the helm of Yieldstreet, where he oversaw the deployment of over $6 billion across private market asset classes. His new mandate involves assembling a local team focused on finance, legal, compliance, and business development. By planting a flag in New York, the protocol aims to bridge the gap between traditional institutional capital and on-chain credit infrastructure.
Kamino currently reports a total value locked of approximately $1.43 billion, with $1.02 billion in active loans. The protocol’s institutional ambitions are anchored by its PRIME market, which integrates yields from Figure Technologies’ home-equity loan originations. Since its launch, PRIME has attracted over $600 million in deposits. The platform is also expanding its collateral options to include tokenized equities, such as Forward Industries’ FWDI shares and Galaxy’s GLXY, both facilitated through the Superstate system. While the firm eyes a significant physical footprint in Manhattan to navigate the evolving U.S. regulatory landscape, no formal timeline for the office opening or specific hiring targets has been finalized.
