The assets, which became effective on June 1, are operated by Chevron and currently generate approximately 900 barrels of oil equivalent per day. By targeting these specific proven reserves, Vitesse aims to bolster its free cash flow and per-share net asset value. To protect the underlying economics of the deal, the company implemented a hedging strategy using commodity derivative contracts that extend through 2030.
Chief Executive Officer Jamie Benard described the move as a strategic addition of high-quality, developed producing assets. The transaction underscores a broader industry trend where independent firms capitalize on established infrastructure maintained by major operators like Chevron to ensure predictable returns.
