Factorial Energy Rallies on Mitsui Kinzoku Battery Pact

Chief Executive Siyu Huang emphasized that the collaboration is essential for overcoming the limitations of independent innovation in the battery sector. By integrating Mitsui’s sulfide-based solid electrolyte technology with Factorial’s proprietary design, the companies intend to scale manufacturing capabilities that neither could effectively achieve alone.

Mitsui Kinzoku brings a robust industrial footprint to the deal, particularly through its dominance in ultra-thin copper foil, where it commands roughly 90% of the semiconductor market. This technical expertise serves as a cornerstone for the joint effort to bring next-generation energy storage to market. The deal reflects a growing trend of supply chain coalitions aimed at overcoming the complex material hurdles inherent in solid-state battery development.
