The company's shares had plunged 19% to $10.02 on Thursday immediately following the disclosure of the planned sale. With the offering now scrapped, investors signaled renewed confidence, pushing the stock back to $11.30.
Founded in 1999 by brothers Tim, Chris, and Russ Vanderhook, Viant remains under the firm grip of the family, which held approximately 65% of the company's voting power as of June 30. Even if the sale had proceeded, the Vanderhooks would have retained a majority stake, maintaining their control over the platform's strategic direction.
