Charley Cooper, president of Ava Labs, confirmed the year-long collaboration during the Avalanche Summit in New York. The partnership moved beyond mere technical stress-testing, with NYSE executives scrutinizing whether Ava Labs could align with the rigorous operational and economic standards required by one of the world's largest securities markets. Michael Blaugrund, head of strategic initiatives at Intercontinental Exchange, noted that Avalanche currently meets many of the exchange’s technical requirements.
Despite this progress, the proposed platform is designed to be chain-agnostic, supporting multiple networks for settlement and custody. NYSE continues to build out its infrastructure through various partnerships, including a recent deal with tZERO and a prior memorandum with Securitize. The exchange aims to integrate its existing Pillar matching engine with blockchain-based post-trade systems to support tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, pending regulatory approval. While the SEC recently granted conditional relief for trading tokenized National Market System stocks, NYSE has yet to announce a formal launch date for its digital venue.
