Pi Network Unblocks KYC and Wallet Access for 900,000 Users

Pi Network has cleared a major hurdle for its user base, lifting duplicate-account restrictions for 417,000 Pioneers while preparing a technical fix for 497,000 wallets trapped by insufficient gas fees. These adjustments aim to resolve persistent migration bottlenecks that have slowed the transition of PI balances to the Mainnet.

Pi Network Unblocks KYC and Wallet Access for 900,000 Users

The Pi Core Team announced that it refined the algorithms used to flag potential duplicate accounts, allowing those previously blocked to resume their Know Your Customer (KYC) applications. This change does not grant immediate approval; users must still satisfy all remaining identity checks and complete the Mainnet Checklist to move their transferable balances to the live network. The update also extends to legacy applicants who used the third-party service Yoti and Indonesian users previously rejected for submitting child identity cards (KIA), both of whom can now resubmit their credentials through the native Pi system.

Separate from identity verification, the project is tackling a distinct issue affecting 497,000 Fast-Track wallets. Many users found themselves unable to claim migrated PI tokens because their wallets lacked the necessary gas funds to process the transaction. The Core Team expects to deploy a fix within the week to restore access and prevent similar lockouts in future migrations. Meanwhile, the network has transitioned Protocol V27 to Testnet 2, recording approximately 250 transactions per block. This upgrade focuses on smart-contract authentication and liquidity pool infrastructure, representing a critical step in the network's ongoing development sequence.
