RedotPay Targets $5 Billion Valuation Amid IPO Push

Conflict lead: While industry peers like Kraken and Ledger have delayed their public market debuts, Hong Kong-based RedotPay is pushing back against reports of a slowdown, confirming that its path toward a U.S. initial public offering remains active as it eyes a valuation exceeding $5 billion.

RedotPay Targets $5 Billion Valuation Amid IPO Push

The stablecoin payments firm recently finalized a financial audit and a separate review of its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing controls, both conducted by Big Four accounting firms. These milestones are critical steps toward filing a U.S. prospectus, as the company seeks to demonstrate fiscal transparency and regulatory readiness. CEO Michael Gao emphasized that these assessments are intended to build institutional trust as the company matures.

Despite speculation regarding a potential deferral, RedotPay maintains that its listing process continues. The company, which boasts a user base of 8.5 million, has seen its transaction volume hit record highs in the second quarter with operating margins surpassing 50%. This momentum follows a year of aggressive capital raising, including a $107 million Series B round backed by investors such as Pantera Capital and Blockchain Capital.

Legal and Competitive Hurdles

The IPO preparations coincide with a high-stakes legal battle in Hong Kong, where Binance affiliates are seeking nearly $473 million in damages. The plaintiffs allege that RedotPay’s founders misappropriated confidential information from their previous tenure at Binance to build the payments platform. RedotPay has dismissed these claims, vowing to defend its operations vigorously as it simultaneously expands its footprint, having recently secured a U.S. money transmitter license. With cumulative stablecoin card spending topping $10.9 billion, the company remains focused on its goal of capturing a larger share of the global digital dollar payment market.
