The latest investment brings Spiko's total funding to $120 million, with participation from Index Ventures, Bpifrance, Speedinvest, and several other venture firms. Angel investors, including former Bundesbank President Axel Weber and the founders of Qonto, also backed the round. The company plans to deploy the capital to launch new investment products, expand its footprint into Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and the Nordic region, and scale its workforce.
Spiko provides regulated cash funds denominated in euros, U.S. dollars, British pounds, and Swiss francs. By issuing fund shares as blockchain tokens, the company allows businesses to automate treasury management through its API, enabling firms to direct idle cash into yield-generating assets. The platform currently serves over 10,000 users, ranging from startups and technology companies to public bodies and medical practices.
A significant driver of this growth has been the Spiko Amundi Overnight Swap Fund, which surpassed $1 billion in assets within four months of its March launch. While competitors like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton remain dominant in the tokenized money-market space, Spiko claims its current assets under management rank it as the world’s largest issuer of tokenized cash funds. The company is now working toward introducing continuous, hourly yield accrual to further differentiate its offerings.
