Fitzgerald, who has led the company’s cardiovascular unit since May 2022, will oversee all global operations and business regions. His promotion is the anchor of a broader restructuring that divides the organization into Interventional Therapies, Rhythm Solutions, and MedSurg segments. This model aims to sharpen the focus on strategic investments and long-term growth.
Leadership roles for these segments will shift simultaneously. Lance Bates will head global Interventional Therapies, while Nick Spadea-Anello takes charge of Rhythm Solutions. Stephen Morse will manage the combined MedSurg and Asia Pacific portfolio. Each of these executives will report directly to Fitzgerald. Chief Executive Mike Mahoney noted that the new configuration addresses the company's current scale, prioritizing speed and proximity to patient needs.
