Kyoshin Reports Net Profit Growth Despite Operating Slump

Kyoshin Co. Ltd. saw its net profit climb to 77 million yen for the half-year ending August 31, a significant jump from the 18 million yen reported during the same period last year, even as the company grappled with a sharp contraction in core operating profitability.

Kyoshin Reports Net Profit Growth Despite Operating Slump

The Japanese firm’s revenue rose to 14.19 billion yen, up from 13.11 billion yen in the previous year. Despite this top-line growth, operating profit plummeted to 52 million yen, down from 218 million yen a year prior. The company also recorded a pretax loss of 5 million yen, contrasting with a 191 million yen profit during the same timeframe in 2025.

Earnings per share rose to 10.03 yen from 2.45 yen. These results, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, highlight a complex fiscal period where bottom-line gains masked underlying pressure on operational margins.
