Nippon Shikizai Swings to Half-Year Loss as Costs Mount

Nippon Shikizai Swings to Half-Year Loss as Costs Mount

Despite an uptick in top-line performance, with revenue climbing to 9.16 billion yen from 8.03 billion yen the previous year, the company struggled to convert sales into bottom-line gains. Operating profit plummeted to 50 million yen, down from 110 million yen in 2025. This contraction in earnings, coupled with broader financial pressures, resulted in a pretax loss of 14 million yen. Consequently, earnings per share dropped to a loss of 10.56 yen, a significant decline from the 23.46 yen profit per share reported in the prior-year period.
