StandX to Cease Operations and Cancel Token Launch

StandX, the decentralized perpetual futures exchange co-founded by former Binance Futures executive Aaron Gong, is shutting down operations. After serving over 237,000 users and seeing total value locked peak at $200 million, the platform will scrap its planned token launch in favor of a final DUSD airdrop for its community.

StandX to Cease Operations and Cancel Token Launch

The exchange, which launched its mainnet in November 2025, cited a strategic review of business and market conditions as the catalyst for the closure. The wind-down process begins immediately, with all yield distributions—including DUSD, position, and referral rewards—terminated as of October 15. New vault creation and deposits are no longer accepted, and the platform will transition to a reduce-only trading environment starting October 20.

Under the shutdown schedule, StandX will force-close any remaining open positions at the prevailing mark price by January 15, 2027. Users have until January 31, 2027, to withdraw assets or submit DUSD redemption requests. The platform emphasized that its DUSD stablecoin remains fully collateralized, and while the team will remove its own liquidity from PancakeSwap and Raydium on that date, they maintain that funds remain secure.

Instead of the anticipated native token, the team will distribute a one-time DUSD airdrop funded by remaining revenue and contributions from the founders. An eligibility checker for the airdrop will go live on October 26, with claim windows open from November 1 through December 31. The project joins a growing list of decentralized exchanges that have shuttered in 2026, including Satori Finance and Loopring, as platforms grapple with shifting market dynamics and competitive pressures.
