Solana Struggles for Momentum After Testing $100 Support

Solana climbed back to $106.20 on October 15 after dipping to an intraday low of $100.62. Despite this modest recovery, the asset faces significant technical headwinds, with negative daily momentum and a series of overhead moving averages threatening to stall further gains in the current market environment.

The rebound arrived after a period of prolonged weakness, during which the token lost its established trading range of $118–$122. While the current price sits above the $100 psychological threshold, the recovery remains fragile. On the 4-hour chart, Solana faces immediate resistance at $109.21, $112.67, and $114.43, marking a gauntlet of moving averages that must be cleared to signal a genuine trend reversal.

Institutional demand provides little support for a sustained rally. U.S. spot Solana ETFs recorded $1.29 million in net outflows on October 14, marking an eighth consecutive session of redemptions. Technical indicators further underscore the cautious outlook: the daily MACD remains firmly in negative territory without a bullish crossover, and the Chaikin Money Flow on the 4-hour chart persists just below zero. Analysts now look to the $97–$99 range as a critical defensive line; a failure to hold this zone could expose the price to a deeper correction toward the $75–$77 level.
