Binance rolls out .ai naming for AI wallet agents

Binance co-founder Yi He is pushing users to secure unique identity names for their AI agents directly through the exchange’s mobile application. The initiative allows users to replace complex alphanumeric wallet addresses with personalized handles ending in ".ai," signaling a broader push to integrate autonomous agents into the platform's ecosystem.

The campaign centers on the Agent ID feature, which users can access via a dedicated banner within the Binance Wallet. Participants select a custom identifier that appears on a branded digital card, theoretically simplifying how these AI-driven entities are recognized. While the feature aims to replace the standard, cumbersome "0x" wallet addresses, current demonstrations remain limited to the naming process itself rather than active on-chain transactions or trades.

This naming rollout follows the August introduction of Agent OS, a developer platform designed to centralize Binance's AI-focused infrastructure. By incorporating tools like the Wallet Agentic Hub and the Model Context Protocol, the exchange enables third-party applications—including Claude and ChatGPT—to interface with user accounts. These interactions occur within isolated subaccounts, where users can grant specific permissions for trading or balance inquiries. Binance maintains strict security boundaries, ensuring these AI agents retain no authority to execute external withdrawals, effectively sandboxing the automated activity from the user's primary capital.
