Takara Holdings Profit Slips Despite Revenue Gains

Takara Holdings saw its first-quarter net profit drop to 3.63 billion yen, down from 4.15 billion yen during the same period last year. Despite a notable surge in revenue, the Japanese beverage and biotechnology group struggled to maintain its bottom-line performance against rising costs in the three months ending June 30.

Takara Holdings Profit Slips Despite Revenue Gains

The company reported revenue of 103.21 billion yen, reflecting growth compared to the 93.35 billion yen posted in the previous year. However, this top-line expansion failed to translate into higher earnings. Operating profit declined to 2.95 billion yen from 3.46 billion yen, while pretax profit fell to 3.16 billion yen from 3.47 billion yen.

Under Japanese accounting standards, these results translate to earnings per share of 18.87 yen, a decrease from the 21.31 yen recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2025. The data reflects a challenging start to the fiscal year for the Tokyo-listed firm as it navigates shifting operational margins.
