The latest desktop release simplifies how Pioneers connect to applications running on personal machines. Previously, users often faced complex network barriers, requiring them to open ports or adjust router settings to enable remote access via the Pi Browser. Version 0.6.4 automates this connection process, though the team maintains that the feature remains optional for those who have already established their own configurations.
Alongside the connectivity update, the release introduces stricter security protocols. New automated checks are designed to restrict SoloHost applications from accessing unauthorized files or network resources on a user’s host computer. Despite these safeguards, the development team cautioned that users must still exercise personal judgment when installing third-party software. The update also follows the successful completion of the Mainnet Protocol 28 upgrade on October 16, which aims to enhance smart contract flexibility and transaction data management.
Despite these technical milestones, market performance remains muted. On October 25, PI hovered near $0.076, marking a nearly 13% decline over the previous month. With the token failing to break past resistance at $0.08, analysts point to a tightening price triangle that could signal further volatility. Attention now shifts to the ecosystem summit scheduled for November 17–19, where the project intends to showcase developer activity and application growth.
