The company posted net income of $967 million for the quarter ended in September. While this figure trails the $1.69 billion reported in the same period last year, adjusted earnings of $1.66 per share comfortably beat the $1.59 consensus target set by analysts. This performance reflects a 10% rise in total sales, driven primarily by equipment needs in key markets.
Looking toward the December quarter, the firm projects organic sales growth between 12% and 14%, with adjusted earnings per share landing between $1.15 and $1.20. These figures outpace Wall Street estimates, reinforcing management's long-term outlook of $6.15 to $6.30 per share for the fiscal year ending in September 2027.
Strategic portfolio shifts accompany these financial results. Johnson Controls has entered an agreement to divest its global intrusion unit, which manufactures burglar alarms and security hardware, to Los Angeles-based Truelink Capital. The transaction, terms of which remain undisclosed, is slated to finalize in the first half of 2027.
