The fraudulent website mimics Trust Wallet branding to peddle three tiers of cards—Lite, Signature, and Metal—all while promising zero foreign exchange fees and airport lounge access for a nominal $1 issuance fee. Despite claiming to hold licenses in four countries, the site conspicuously markets an absence of Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements to bypass standard financial safeguards. Security researcher Daniel, known as @0xDani on X, first exposed the operation, noting that the site's primary objective is to trick users into connecting their cryptocurrency wallets.
James Bro, representing the Trust Wallet security team, explicitly disavowed the platform, confirming it has no association with the company. The scheme relies on luring users into signing malicious smart contracts or transaction permissions. While a simple connection does not immediately compromise funds, these signatures often grant attackers broad spending authority over a user's tokens, allowing them to drain balances without ever needing a private key. This incident follows a pattern of recent impersonation attempts targeting Trust Wallet users through counterfeit applications on third-party app stores.
