The company anticipates recognizing the bulk of these expenses during the final quarter of the year, with remaining obligations stretching into 2027. Alongside the workforce reduction, Chief Technology Officer Ali Dasdan is stepping down on November 18. Under his departure agreement, Dasdan will receive a $515,000 pro rata bonus and a lump sum cash payment of approximately $1.3 million, in addition to standard severance benefits.
These organizational changes follow a significant transition at the top of the firm: founder Andrew Houston recently stepped down after 19 years as CEO to become executive chairman, handing the reins to former core business general manager Ashraf Alkarmi. Despite the internal upheaval, Dropbox reported that its third-quarter financial performance remains on track, with revenue projected between $627 million and $630 million. The company maintains its full-year guidance, forecasting annual revenue of roughly $2.5 billion.
