RedStone Secures Canton Grant to Build Private Pricing Standard

RedStone has secured a 15,775,000 Canton Coin grant, valued at approximately $1.83 million, to develop the Canton Access and Privacy Standard (CAPS). This 12-month initiative aims to provide institutional users with a secure method for sharing reference prices while keeping individual transaction terms and valuations strictly confidential between counterparties.

RedStone Secures Canton Grant to Build Private Pricing Standard

The project addresses a critical friction point in institutional decentralized finance: the need for transparent reference data without exposing proprietary trade details. By utilizing the Canton network, the proposed system allows banks to reference a public oracle price—such as $100 for collateral—while privately agreeing to a different valuation, like $98, for their specific repo transaction. The oracle operator remains unaware of the private figure, ensuring that sensitive position data is never leaked.

Funding for the development is tied to rigorous performance metrics, with half of the grant payments contingent upon demonstrated network adoption. By the eighth month, RedStone must facilitate over $1 million in liquidity through design partners Zenith and Memora, alongside hitting specific milestones for active price feeds and trading volume. Memora intends to leverage the framework for reserve attestations, while Zenith will apply it to pricing-heavy applications. The proposal currently exists as a public standards draft in the Canton repository, utilizing Daml interfaces to allow existing applications to integrate the technology without requiring a complete overhaul of their consumer interfaces.
