Republic Services Lifts Annual Outlook Following Strong Third Quarter

The company reported quarterly revenue of $4.56 billion, comfortably exceeding the $4.42 billion consensus estimate from Wall Street. Adjusted earnings reached $1.94 per share, narrowly edging out the $1.93 forecast. Chief Executive Jon Vander Ark attributed the momentum to consistent growth trends and operational improvements within the company's environmental solutions division.

Revenue gains were broad-based, with the recycling and waste business contributing a 4.8% increase, supplemented by a 2.1% rise in environmental solutions and a 1.3% boost from acquisitions. Reflecting this performance, the company raised its adjusted EBITDA guidance to between $5.55 billion and $5.58 billion. Looking further ahead, the board authorized a $5 billion share repurchase program scheduled to run from 2027 through the end of 2029.
