The strategy functions by allowing investors to deposit FUSD—a token backed by short-term government debt—to borrow USDC. These stablecoins are then deployed into liquidity pools, creating a dual-stream income model. By leveraging FUSD holdings, participants earn returns from the underlying assets while capturing potential yield from on-chain liquidity provisions. FinChain has implemented a 90% utilization cap to manage the risks inherent in this leveraged structure, which operates alongside a T+2 redemption cycle.
FinChain CEO Zhao Chen characterized the collaboration as a shift toward applying traditional institutional asset management frameworks to blockchain finance. Plume CEO Chris Yin noted that the project marks a pivot from simple asset issuance to the development of functional financial applications. Beyond the Plume integration, FinChain has finalized a connection with the KuCoin exchange, allowing FUSD to participate in the platform's RCMS staking mirror solution. While the projected 7.2% APY remains subject to market conditions, borrowing costs, and liquidity pool performance, the initiative represents a significant expansion for FinChain’s RWA ecosystem.
