The initiative, dubbed "Bigger, Bolder, Better," follows the successful launch of a 36,000-square-foot flagship in Thunder Bay, Ontario. By the end of 2028, the company plans to transform 40 locations within its 387-store network into this expanded format. This capital injection is a significant component of the retailer’s wider C$2 billion "True North" strategic program.
Early performance metrics suggest the strategy is yielding results. Converted stores have seen new customer acquisition climb by nearly 50%, significantly outperforming the 7.5% growth rate seen in traditional Mark's outlets. While the brand built its reputation on industrial workwear, management noted that the shift toward broader casual apparel is successfully capturing interest from women and younger demographics who previously bypassed the stores.
